This lovely dog is Ursu. He is about 5 years old and a neutered medium to large dog. He spent his entire life struggling to survive on the streets of Romania before being caught and put into one of the notorious death shelters. Luckily for Ursu he was rescued before being brutally slaughtered and is now enjoying life in foster.
He is a friendly, affectionate boy who is clean in the house and walks fairly well on the lead, although he does like to try to chase cats and bicycles. He does mouth, sometimes quite hard when he gets excited. This is a common thing with dogs who have never spent their early years living with people and he is slowly learning that this is not okay.
Ursu gets on with other dogs but doesn’t like cats. Because of his age and background we cannot place Ursu in a household with children. He likes his home comforts but also loves the great outdoors so a home with a good size garden or yard and regular walks are a must. If a suitable home we will consider letting Ursu go on permanent foster basis. This means there will be no adoption fee and vet bills will be covered. Regular home checks will be required. He really is a great dog, just looking for someone who can help him fulfill his potential and love him.
