Valli – 1 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross
Valli is a 1 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross who was found tied up in an London alley starving. She was in our kennels for a while and then has been living with a mature male Staffie. She however is taking longer to work through her puppy ways in an adult’s body and needs a family able to allow her to achieve her adult skills with guidance.
Valli could be an only dog or live with another dog as long as her dog skills continue to develop. She is eager to relate to dogs and currently trying to interact, but some dogs find her ‘play’ intimidating. Valli needs command deference to her owners which a training course will provide. She is intelligent and young … seeks to please. So leadership for this young puppy in an adult’s body. 2 months in her home has set her on her path of skill maturity.
Valli is a young crossbreed who is presenting as a 6-7 month stage of maturity (in a year old body). She is a dear soul with just a lot of catching up to do. She came in confused, so thin and so wanting to please, abandoned in the middle of winter. She quickly became a favourite in our rescue and went into foster. Her fosterers have begun her training, but she now needs formal training. Watch her trying to fly and oops she bumps into things, but she is learning to believe in herself ‘look mum I’m flying!’ She needs to “attend” a training course. She needs to seek her owner’s approval and adjust accordingly. At the moment she is free-fall, but what a beauty as her grace emerges. Given 6 months she will have integrated her co-ordination, skills acquisition and her emergent instincts will be under her control and her owners. She is doing fine … whilst she learns to shine!
Now in good health, embracing life and slowly claiming back her puppyhood. She wants to rush, to meet to launch into play so needs firm boundaries. The outside world is still a play ground and as a 6-7 month pup her behaviour would be joyful and accepted … she needs to work through her maturity stages. She is still the needy rescue dog, but her tender nature shines through. Her fosterers are trying to avoid her going back into kennels so her new family can build further on the last 2 months input. A foster place may also help. The bud is coloured … and with sun shine … will open in resplendent glory. Valli… how green is our Valli?!
