Vica – 1 year old female Cross-Breed

Vica is a 1 year old female Cross-Breed. Vica has settled in so well to her new foster home in Dorset and is coexisting peacefully with her foster sibling dogs and cats, as long as she gets her fair share of fuss and cuddles, which she loves. Vica can be shy with strangers but she’s fine once she realises they won’t hurt her, this brave little dog is very willing to love and trust but it can take her a little while to gain confidence with newcomers, so her forever family would need to be willing to let Vica interact with any visitors in her own time. Vica has rapidly discovered a love for toys, in her old life, toys weren’t ever going to be a possibility for her, so she’s certainly making up for lost time! Vica has the use of a toy box at her foster Mum’s and often helps herself when she fancies a play and if her family join in so much the better, either human or dog playmates are fine and dandy with Vica. If Vica finds herself with no one to play with, this sweet dog entertains herself by running up and down the stairs or choosing a toy from the box.

Vica has settled into home life so well and her foster Mum has discovered that she’s clean around the house, is fine with cats and children and enjoys her walks although she is strong and would benefit from further guidance in this respect, her foster Mum has found that Vica responds brilliantly to walks in a Halti device as if she tends to pull with a plain collar and lead or harness. One challenge Vica has is that she is wary of having her lead put on, so patience and understanding would be needed from her forever family to prove to her there is nothing to fear and that good things happen when her lead goes on. One of Vica’s early challenges is that she has been nervous outside and has taken a while to trust her foster family after everything she has been through in her previous life but she is improving and gaining confidence all the time, so this will be something her forever family will need to bear in mind.

Vica does travel in the car exceptionally well and she is also crate trained. Perhaps Vica’s favourite thing is to have a good old fashioned fuss, now that she’s discovered that humans can be loving and gentle, she can’t get enough so if you are looking for a dog that adores affection, Vica’s your girl! This sweet dog has had a very difficult start in life but in the right forever home, she’ll blossom even more than she has with her foster family. There has to be someone that can give her a chance of a loving home of her very own, someone patient and understanding to work with Vica to continue to show her she no longer has anything to fear and everything to look forward to.
