Victoria is a 5-year old West Highland Terrier, who is being fostered in Cardiff. She is a quiet, timid little girl who is slowly getting used to the positive things in a doggy’s life. Victoria has had a rotten start in life but is slowly learning how to be a pet. Victoria is fine with the adults that live in the house but is a little nervous of new people coming in. She settles after a while. She can be touched but will back off if you touch her for too long. She has not been tested with children yet but we think quiet, sensible children over 10 would be okay.
Victoria mixes with 1 male and 3 females dogs in foster home. She happily joins them in the garden and runs around with them in the house. Victoria is happy around cats. Victoria seems fine when left with the other dogs. Has been left for about 3 hours. Victoria can be dominant over toys and guards her food which is probably due to her past. We are working on this with her. Victoria is nervous of loud noises and sudden movements but not worried by TV washing machine etc. Her house training is a work in progress. She runs to greet her foster family with a wagging tail and wants to give kisses when we come into the house. She will watch other animals intensely when they are on the TV or lap top. She likes to sit on the sofa and rest her head on your lap and sleep.
Victoria has not been on any walks yet. Victoria definitely needs another dog. She needs someone who is home part of the day. We think she will love to be out doors a lot when she’s lead trained as she loves to be in the garden and runs around wanting to play. She seems to have a lot of energy. She has not been tested with children yet.
Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you.
Victoria is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Cardiff.
If you are interested in adopting Victoria please read about our rehoming process and complete a Pre-Adoption form ( link here ) and one of our adoption coordinators will contact you for a chat.
