Vupi is a small to medium size, 11 year old neutered Terrier cross, a healthy happy chap. He definitely has some terrier traits in him as he is the biggest cuddle champion and tale wagger who is hard to resist, but he also has his own will. He is house trained and currently living with a foster in an apartment, so he is well aware of basic rules of living in a house. This gorgeous boy spent over half his life in real misery… He was rescued from a horrible place in a village in Hungary. He was on a 1.5 m chain and, instead of a collar, he had a thick strong wire around his neck which was made specifically to fit the size of his head… what an amazing creativity, sadly used for the wrong thing.
If this was not enough, he was also locked into a kennel without proper shelter as his chain was not long enough for him to get into the ramshakle dog house they placed on the other side of the kennel. So he was under the bare sky come rain or snow, sun or heat. His food was tossed into the kennel through a hole, but no one ever touched him or went inside his kennel, let alone ever let him out. This was all the human contact he had for over 3 years… He was about 6 or 7 years old when found in this condition.
Despite this ordeal, Vupi still trusts people and likes human company. He is also fine with children, but he is not a good playmate as he is not really bothered by them at all in the good sense. He would only focus on them if they have treats in the hand or they are ready to pet him! He’s generally good wit dogs, but does not like dominant dogs too much. He is not aggressive and would not start a fight but if there is a fight between two dogs, he would happily join the party! He would also chase cats and small rodents when his terrier blood kicks in. He travels nicely in the car, quite chilled and likes looking around as if he was in the cinema. He walks nicely on the lead. He is quite curious and he’s ready to keep you entertained with his cheeky personality. He loves to play with his toys and happily involves his humans in the play.
Vupi would be best suited for a family without or with older children that do not leave him alone for long periods and happy to take him for walks to meet his exercise needs, but would also spend precious time with him at home cuddled up on the sofa. He would be happy as the only dog in the household, but could live with a friendly dog too. He needs someone who’s happy to give him stability and a warm home after all he’s been through.
Vupi comes fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, dewormed, with an EU passport and DEFRA approved paperwork. Adoption is subject to Home Check and Adoption fee.
