Willow – 11 year old female Lurcher

11yr old Willow is a bit of a Lurcher princess. She loves to be pampered and expects complete luxury at all times! Willow is in a foster home at the moment with two other dogs, where she is getting on really well. She is much adored by her foster carers and makes new friends wherever she goes. In the house she has been calm, polite and very gentle. She likes to sit on the sofa but always waits to be invited up first. She loves to stretch out as long as she can in any sunny patches she can find, and lies hopefully in front of the fire in the evenings.

With other dogs Willow can be shy and prefers to keep her distance from those who are too boisterous or in-your-face. She has settled in really nicely with the dogs in her foster home and now has occasional giddy moments where she will play chase with them, but it has taken a week or two for her to come out of her shell and feel comfortable enough to let herself go.

She is fit and well for her age and loves her walks; she is just as happy with short strolls as she is with longer adventures. She loves to paddle in the river but looks disdainfully at the other dogs in her foster home when they go for a swim! She does generally come back when called, but will chase squirrels and rabbits if she sees them so will require typical Lurcher management when out and about.

Willow is an older girl and enjoys her peace and quiet at home. She has had bad experiences of toddlers and young children and much prefers to keep out of their way, so we are looking for a home where any children are teens and up. She is suitable to live with one other gentle, well socialised dog of a similar size.
