Willow – 1 year old female Jack Russell Terrier

Willow is a 1 year old Jack Russell who was surrendered to us when there was a change in her owner’s circumstances. She is being fostered in RCT, South Wales and is looking for a terrier experienced home where there are no children or other pets. Willow did share her previous home with another dog but in her foster home she has been very bossy around them and sometimes snappy. We feel that Willow would be happiest as an only dog. She has not been cat tested but given her interest in all things that move we will not rehome her with cats. Willow has had a lot of changes over the last couple of months and is a very nervous girl. She is initially very unsure of new people and isn’t comfortable around children. We welcome applications from adult-only homes where there are no visiting children.

When out and about, Willow does bark at other animals when they approach her, but does walk nicely on the lead. As with most terrier types she would benefit from a fairly active home where she receives regular exercise and ongoing socialisation. Car journeys do not faze Willow and she travels well.

Willow is housetrained and is used to living in a home. She isn’t used to being in a crate and will cry. Further work will need doing in this area if her new family wanted to crate her. Once she has your trust she is an affectionate little girl and does love a lap and a cuddle. When her foster mum returns from work she gets so waggy and cries in excitement as she is so happy to see her.

Willow will need patience and consistent boundaries but will reward her new owners with a lifetime of love if they put in the time with her. She is up to date with her vaccinations, flea and worming treatment, is spayed and microchipped. Potential adopters are expected to travel to visit Willow in her foster home in RCT, South Wales.
