Zorro – 8-9 year old male Rottweiler Cross

Zorro is an 8 to 9 year old medium sized probable Rottweiller cross. Zorro is fostered in Gt Yarmouth (FR001). This beautiful old boy arrived with us a few months ago now. The amiable, old chap came to us from the Radauti public shelter in Romania. Poor old boy was so skinny and was so worm ridden he wasn’t going to gain weight no matter how much he was fed.

Zorro wore the same resigned expression on his face that most of the oldies arrive wearing. He’d never had anything good happen to him in his life and he wasn’t going to start expecting anything good now.

Little by little, day by day, as the fresh and pleasant experiences were shown to him he became lighter hearted and the dead inside expression changed to one of hope and expectation. He is now a fine figure of a dog, his coat shines and the light has returned to the once defeated eyes. So we need someone to come along and take over showing this unassuming dog the good things in life. Zorro is like a different dog.

Where before he hung back in the pack not expecting any of the fuss to be for him, he now readily comes forward for a big old bear hug. Where once he thought he had to fight for his meals he now waits patiently for his turn because he knows his days of hunger are over. Theres no contention with other dogs because he’s confident in his place in life now. Theres just one major elemant missing now and that’s a home of his very own!

So we need someone to come along and take over showing this unassuming dog the good things in life. He already feels better in himself and is loving the regular meals and lovely walks. He still doesn’t presume anybody will want to fuss him but when they do he loves it and is hugely grateful for any attention that is gifted his way. My dream for Zorro is that one day he will see himself as worthy of love, his days of being shunned and ignored are over and he will be loved in his own right for however long he has left.

Zorro mixes very well with all other dogs and people of all ages. He is a friendly and calm and quiet and a pleasure to have around.
