Andy is a male Griffon and he is 4 years old (DOB 10/02/2020) and he needs a forever home. Height: 59 cms- Length: 61 cms.

Andy is a big teddy bear, we believe he may be a Grand Griffon Vendeen, he’s 23kg. While in the pound, Andy was bitten by another dog so when we released him he had some little injuries in his paws but obviously now he’s perfectly fine.

He has some allergies so he needs to eat hypoallergenic kibbles and a dusty environment doesnt help him either.

Andy is super sociable, loving & sweet with people, but he has a character so his family needs to respect his space, his time to be alone and his belongings. He seems to have had a rough time in the pound but he doesn’t seem to have been mistreated in his previous life as he’s not shy at all.

Andy is possessive towards food and also with his belongings so he must be fed separately from other dogs and toys cannot be left around to avoid fights. He can be dominant with male dogs and people must also respect his boundaries.

Andy can live in a home with or without other doggies as long as the resident dog is VERY submissive, he’s active and needs lots of regular exercise, he will be an amazing family dog if he has lots of activities to do. No kids in the family as they are unpredictable and Andy can react.

Remember that we are looking for an experienced adopter as he has a strong character. He’s in Spain and we arrange everything for him to travel to the UK once adopted.

The one downside of the Griffons/hunting hounds is they have been used for hunting in Spain & their recall can be awful so we ask that they are kept on a lead or long lunge lead unless in an enclosed space.

We would also be looking for a secure enclosed garden with fencing or walls to a height of 5ft or more. Hedging will be allowed if it is completely secure with 5ft minimum fencing behind it. Trellis can be added to raise the height of existing fencing or walls to give the height we need.

Full rescue back up is provided.
