Hi everyone, my name is Arktos and I am in foster in Oxfordshire. My name means bear and I guess that is just perfect for me, as I’m a big cuddly teddy bear! I’m a large size greek shepherd cross and I am 3,5 years old

My foster parents say that I am a loyal, affectionate boy and they are really proud of how I’ve settled and started learning the ropes. It didn’t take me long to find my spot on the sofa, and I absolutely can’t wait to find my forever home!

Could you be the family for me?

I love my walkies with my furry foster brother Gio and I sit calmly while my foster parents put my lead on. I travel happily in the car and although I can be strong on the lead, I am learning to walk nicely. I even sit and wait politely for my dinner!

I get a bit excited when my foster humans get home or if there are visitors, and I’m learning to keep all four paws on the floor. For this reason, while I’m still learning, I need my family to be aware I’m a bigger boy, and any kids should be older teens who are used to dogs.

I’ll need someone who can carry on my training in my forever home – but I promise I will pay you back in love and kisses for life.

I am not a very demanding boy, I love long walks – and when we get home I would be happy to chill on your sofa or in front of the fireplace. I love to have tummy tickles – I deserve to be spoilt after spending almost 2 years at the shelter!

At the shelter I always shared my kennel with other doggies and I now live with my foster brother Gio but I would happily be the only dog in the home and have doggy friends to socialise with regularly.

I don’t mind being left for an hour or two. And good news, I’m toilet trained! What a smart boy I am!

If I sound like the paw-fect family member, then I would love to hear back from you.

I would be happy as an only dog at home or live with other calm dogs.

  • I need a home with a secure, private garden
  • no small furies
  • I can live with children over 14 who are used to large dogs only because I am a big boy
  • I am fully vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for Mediterranean diseases.
