Axel is a 3 year old male Mastiff Cross. “I have been neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. I was rehomed by SEDR when I was around 9 months old, but sadly a new baby in the home means I am now needing to find a furever home. My former Mum and Dad were absolutely distraught at my rehoming, but despite a lot of intervention, I was simply unable to cope with the new arrival.

I did not show any aggression but became extremely anxious, stressed and unhappy. I am a large dog weighing 45kg and I do need to continue to put on weight. I am looking for a home without another dog, no cats and no children (or visiting children) True to my breed, I am initially wary of new people and will need someone who has experience.

Hotdogs are a good way to win me over, but you will need to earn my trust. Once you have it, I will be your best friend and your shadow. I will bark at people if they approach me on lead and when they knock at the door to my home. My former humans would use a baby gate when visitors arrived so that I can get used to new people slowly.

A quiet home without lots of visitors would ideal. I love my walks and due to my size, my new owners will need to be physically fit! Once I have been out, I love to go back to bed and snooze the day away! I travel well in the car, am house trained and am fine to be left for a few hours.

Underneath my initial wariness, once I love and trust you, I am a sweet and gentle boy who will love you deeply. My new people will be expected to travel to Dartford several times to spend time with me and build a bond before I am re-homed. If you can offer me a place in your home and your heart, please fill in the pre-adoption form using the the link below.” – Quote
