Handsome young Ben is a large 16 month old fawn male Spanish Mastin with unusual facial markings. He has a nice temperament, considering he was left outside the house of a volunteer in Spain when he was only 8 weeks old, starving. He spent his first few months of his life living with her, her horses and cats and 9 other dogs and he got along with all the other animals, (bit excited around the cats) and has shown no sign of food guarding.
In fact, she said he is a soppy, loyal and affectionate boy. He loves playing with the other dogs – a gentle giant, but we think more socialising with cats. He is an obedient dog who understands the rules of the house.
Some lead training has been given and at present he walks with a harness on, he does still require more lead training as he likes to explore bushes and will lunge to get to them.
Ben has been living in the UK now for 6 months and his owner can no longer keep him due to failing health, so he is looking for a new home with a large garden if possible and someone with experience of large dogs willing to help him finish off his training.
We have a schedule of what further training he will need. He is loving and gentle and sociable with other dogs and people.
Foster Report: This big gentleman just wants to please and will make the perfect companion. He really is a lovely dog. He needs someone to properly control him on lead, as he’s a big strong boy and very inquisitive to meet other dogs and explore new smells.
Current location is in a foster home in Birmingham, West Midlands.
Adoption Fee : £345 – to be paid direct to the Spanish rescue to cover travel costs via UK bank account.
