Benji is a 4-5 month old male Cross-Breed. He is handsome boy puppy and he has been with us in Spain since he was tiny and is now ready to find his forever home. He was born to his mother Clara, who was collected as a heavily pregnant stray, and we luckily managed to get her and her babies away from the pound and into the safety of the boarding kennel.

The puppies have grown up here, and at the moment they know nothing other than life in a kennel and run, with the company of their litter mates and their mum. For this reason, they will need patient and understanding homes, who appreciate that everything will be new for them. The puppies haven’t yet been shown what life in a home looks like, how to walk on a lead and go exploring, or how to cope with new situations.

They will need guidance and training around new people, other dogs, on walks and at home, as they will be experiencing all of this for the very first time. He and his siblings didn’t have the typical start at life which puppies should have and deserve, but that didn’t marked them in anyway. They aren’t traumatized puppy and have the typical character of any other puppy. He is a lovely natured boy from what we see in the kennel environment.

He is happy, bouncy and social and he loves spending time with dogs and people alike. Please be aware that we can’t test him with cats. We feel with the support of a loving family he will grow into the best companion anyone could ask for. His mother is a medium sized dog, but Benji is already looking as if he will be quite a lot bigger than her. Benji could possibly be a mastín cross, so please only apply if you feel able to raise and accommodate a large sized dog.

We estimate he could reach 35-40kg once fully grown. For he we are looking for an active family or person, who is committed with the decision of adopting a puppy and with everything that this implies. A puppy needs to be completely educated and socialized, that is why we only consider a dog experienced home (NOT first dog owners) who knows how to manage the education, training and socialization of a puppy and also has the time and patience for this.

We are looking for an adult only home or a home without young children (14+), as we want dogs who require more time like himself to be the priority. He would enjoy having a further dog companion at home from who he would be able to learn. Nevertheless, this is not a requirement, if he gets enough dog interaction and time to play with other dogs on his walks or outdoor activities. He is currently in Northern Spain, but cannot wait to travel and discover his new home in Wales or England (NOT Scotland) as soon as the right family or person comes forward.

He is a gorgeous puppy who has had bad luck in his short life. We feel it’s time he finally gets the warmth and happiness of life in a home. If you’d like to offer him this opportunity, and feel you can commit to the next 10-15 years of his care, please get in touch. We would ask that you send some information about your home life, routine, experience with dogs and why you feel his is right for you, and we in return will happily explain our adoption process.

TeLuMa’s Dream

For further details regarding adopting a dog from TeLuMa’s Dream, please email Olga, Jessica or Greta at telumasdream@gmail.com or visit our website www.telumasdream.co.uk. We are a Spanish voluntary organization which rescues primarily dogs from a public pound in Galicia, in Northern Spain, where the dogs instead of living, are trying to survive. 99% of the dogs are strays or have been abandoned by their owners on the street. The dogs are a variety of breeds and come in all shapes and sizes! We are funded entirely by donations and work hard in our free time to help rescue and rehome as many dogs as possible. With your help we can continue our work and provide food, bedding, medical supplies and care for the dogs until they are well enough to find their forever homes. All dogs rehomed via TeLuMa’s Dream are microchipped, fully vaccinated, wormed, deflead and spayed/neutered if old enough, if not the adoption contract will stipulate that this is done as soon as old enough and this will be checked with your vet. We re-home dogs to England and Wales and in some exceptions also to Scotland, if it’s specified like that on the dog’s description. Our aim is to pair each dog with the right new owner, ensuring that it will be safe, cared for and loved for the rest of its life. Therefore all potential adopters will be asked to complete a questionnaire. Also a homecheck is carried out and a video call to adoption. Please note that we never reserve dogs in advance of our full process having been carried out. We reserve all final decisions on compatible dogs until after the home visit, so please bear in mind that your application will be considered a general application for adoption until final confirmation has been given by both adopter and Teluma's Dream. We offer a full rescue back up service to all our adopters and post-adoption support, which includes a Facebook support group and free behavioral advice.
Please also be aware that all dogs who are adopted through TeLuMa’s Dream remain part of our extended family throughout their lifetime. We ask for regular updates during the settling in period following their adoption, and for an ongoing quarterly updates and follow ups after that for the duration of the dogs whole life. We are committed to our dogs and our forever families and this allows us to support you and your dog, but at the same time, knowing how the dogs are, receiving updates and keeping us informed is also the reward for all the efforts, time and costs that are involved in saving each dog. If you feel happy with this level of communication then we would be happy to hear from you.
