Berti – 8 month old male Cross-Breed

Berti is an 8 month old male Cross-Breed. He is in our care since he came to this world. His mum was a medium sized cross breed and his father is unknown to us, but he has the features of a Retriever with long hair. Berti has the typical character of a puppy but is quite calm for his age. He is just adorable.

Berti and his other siblings are currently in a boarding kennel in Spain where they are taking very well care of them, but what Berti really needs more than anything is a family. We don’t know how he is with cats and other small furries and we also can’t test him with them, but he is affectionate, playful and great with other dogs.

As already mentioned the father is unknown to us. From his current size, we estimate that he will be about 25 to 30kg, but it also shouldn’t become a problem for you if he grows more than expected. His future family will need to be patient and understanding as Berti hasn’t been shown what life in a home looks like, how to walk on a lead and go exploring, or how to cope with new situations.

He will need guidance and training around new people, and other dogs, on walks and at home, as he will be experiencing all of this for the very first time and may be a little bit shy/nervous at first, but with gentle affection and positive training, we have no doubt this stunning boy will flourish.

For Berti, we are looking for an active family or person, who is committed to the decision of adopting a puppy and with everything that this implies. That is why we only consider a dog experienced home (NOT first dog owners) who knows how to manage the education, training and socialization of a puppy and also has the time and patience for this.

We are looking for an adult-only home or a home without young children (14+), as we want dogs who require more time like himself to be the priority. We would like him to have the company of a young or adult resident dog at home, so he can play and learn from a confident friend.

Berti is currently in Northern Spain, but cannot wait to travel and discover his new home in Wales or England (NOT Scotland) as soon as the right family or person comes forward. Berti is a gorgeous puppy who deserves to know what it means to have his own family where he will be a further family member, loved and appreciated.

If you’d like to offer him this opportunity and feel you can commit to the next 10-15 years of his care, please get in touch. We would ask that you send some information about your home life, routine, experience with dogs and why you feel Berti is right for you, and we in return will happily explain our adoption process.

TeLuMa’s Dream

For further details regarding adopting a dog from TeLuMa’s Dream, please email Olga, Jessica or Greta at telumasdream@gmail.com or visit our website www.telumasdream.co.uk. We are a Spanish voluntary organization which rescues primarily dogs from a public pound in Galicia, in Northern Spain, where the dogs instead of living, are trying to survive. 99% of the dogs are strays or have been abandoned by their owners on the street. The dogs are a variety of breeds and come in all shapes and sizes! We are funded entirely by donations and work hard in our free time to help rescue and rehome as many dogs as possible. With your help we can continue our work and provide food, bedding, medical supplies and care for the dogs until they are well enough to find their forever homes. All dogs rehomed via TeLuMa’s Dream are microchipped, fully vaccinated, wormed, deflead and spayed/neutered if old enough, if not the adoption contract will stipulate that this is done as soon as old enough and this will be checked with your vet. We re-home dogs to England and Wales and in some exceptions also to Scotland, if it’s specified like that on the dog’s description. Our aim is to pair each dog with the right new owner, ensuring that it will be safe, cared for and loved for the rest of its life. Therefore all potential adopters will be asked to complete a questionnaire. Also a homecheck is carried out and a video call to adoption. Please note that we never reserve dogs in advance of our full process having been carried out. We reserve all final decisions on compatible dogs until after the home visit, so please bear in mind that your application will be considered a general application for adoption until final confirmation has been given by both adopter and Teluma's Dream. We offer a full rescue back up service to all our adopters and post-adoption support, which includes a Facebook support group and free behavioral advice.
Please also be aware that all dogs who are adopted through TeLuMa’s Dream remain part of our extended family throughout their lifetime. We ask for regular updates during the settling in period following their adoption, and for an ongoing quarterly updates and follow ups after that for the duration of the dogs whole life. We are committed to our dogs and our forever families and this allows us to support you and your dog, but at the same time, knowing how the dogs are, receiving updates and keeping us informed is also the reward for all the efforts, time and costs that are involved in saving each dog. If you feel happy with this level of communication then we would be happy to hear from you.
