Boycie is a 2-3 year old male Lurcher. He is currently in kennels and so needs a lifeline, he is a stunning lad who is a little nervous initially but once he knows you he is a goofy lad who loves to hoon around. He is a large breed so will need owners or fosters experienced of having large breeds. Sadly Boycie is not good with other dogs, he has the potential in the right hands to work on this but he would need a dog free foster or forever home. We would love to hear from anyone with experience of large breed reactive dogs who would be interested in fostering or adopting Boycie.
We appreciate that there are many dogs needing spaces or homes and we wish we could accommodate them all, if you cant offer a placement or home please can you cross post in the hope that someone may see his post and fall in love. Cross posting really does help and may save a life. As there is limited history for this lad and due to his size an adult only dog and cat free foster, forever or rescue placement is needed. We currently do not have any fosters who are able to take Boycie but having met this lad we are trying to assist with finding him a home or placement. If you can help in any way we would love to hear from you.
Beautiful Boycie is currently kenneled near Orpington Kent.
*Update February 2020*
Poor Boycie has found himself in kennels after being found straying, we are not able to take him as we do not have anyone able to meet his needs, we are trying to help the kennels and give this lad a lifeline. He is not dog friendly and it is highly unlikely that this will change, he does however love people, Boycie is just a stunning looking lad and just needs the “right” home for him to start enjoying life. He is a firm favourite with the kennel team and they would love to see him in a home.
He does, like most young Lurchers love to run so a more rural home with a secure garden where he can run free would be wonderful. As we have a limited history for him then older teenagers only please. Likewise we suspect he may well have a high prey drive so no cats or small furries. We would love to hear from anyone with breed experience who could offer Boycie his forever home.
We would also welcome contact from any rescues able to offer an appropriate placement for Borcie.
*Update 2nd April 2020*
Boycie has been in kennels for some time after finding himself straying. He was unclaimed. The kennels have offered this lad a lifeline but he really does need his forever home able to manage his inability to be with other animals. He is not good with other dogs so would not be able to be exercised off lead – Boycie will need to be kept on lead and muzzled when out walking, he will need owners who are used to managing dogs who have not been socialized and who understand the restrictions this will place on his exercise/interactions.
Boycie is nervous initially but once bonded he gives his soul to those that care for him, he would need to be homed in an adult home without other animals – teenagers 14+ who are used to being around large dogs would be ok. This lad is young and deserves a chance at being a pet and enjoying the comforts of a home. A gentle rub to his tummy as he relaxes after a walk would certainly change this lads life.
