Brad – 2 year old male Cross-Breed

Staffie and Stray Rescue Dorset March 1, 2021

Brad is a 2 year old male Cross-Breed. He is a very large and strong dog. It is quite clear that this poor boy has never had any training or guidance in his young life so far. He has been in two foster homes so far which have sadly not worked out! He is a lively and boisterous dog who is looking for an experienced home.

Brad is looking for a calm household with clear boundaries and routine, with a slow introduction to the whole house (limiting rooms to begin with) to allow him to get used to living in a home. He loves sniffing and is food oriented, he is easily distracted which can help get his attention when he gets over excited. He doesn’t quite realise his size!

Brad’s new family must be patient and willing to spent a lot of time with his training and guidance. Using food puzzles and sniffing/brain games would be really beneficial for Brad.He walks well on the lead, and is very good when out on walks however it is important to remember  he is a strong boy. He is very full of beans but with time, effort and patience he will be a well rounded dog. Brad loves to play with his ball, and would suit an active home, who will enjoy going for long walks. He just wants to please and love everyone he meets.

We have been working alongside our behavioural therapists with Brad and will continue to work with them and the foster/forever home.

Prospective adopters must be experienced in large breed dogs and must be prepared to meet several times prior to adoption. Despite this, Brad is such a charming boy and any home lucky enough to adopt him will enjoy a life of fun and laughter with our Brad!

    Staffie and Stray Rescue Dorset

For further details regarding adopting a dog from Staffie and Stray Rescue, based in Bournemouth in Dorset, please email staffiesrescue@gmail.com or visit the website www.staffieandstrayrescue.co.uk The aim of this non-profit organisation is to find foster homes and permanent homes for dogs in need of a new home. They take on dogs whose owners are no longer able to look after them due to unforeseen circumstances. Staffie and Stray Rescue are also in the process of developing a campaign to help change people’s negative attitudes towards Staffordshire bull terriers, who are often portrayed as dangerous dogs in the media. With 75% of stray dogs being Staffordshire bull terriers, they hope to encourage more people to rehome the breed.
