(Rehomed) Bruce – 7-8 year old male Working Cocker Spaniel

Bruce is a 7-8 year old male Working Cocker Spaniel. He is being fostered in adult home with other dogs in Gloucestershire. He came into our care after his owner wanted to retire him & others from working – he has spent his life as a working Gun Dog in kennels.

He has gone into foster and has done amazingly well for a dog that has not known home life – he seems to have adjusted faster than his sister Ruby and not nearly as anxious. He gets on well with the other dogs, travels well, is off lead and adores cuddles and fuss. He sleeps downstairs at night in a crate.

Out walking with other dogs in group walks off lead His house training is not there yet but he is being castrated this week and this will make a big difference with this and will update. He has started his vaccinations, is receiving treatment for ear mites, he now requires a dental and castration which will be done before he leaves our care.

All in all Bruce is a lovely affectionate happy little dog he will require an experienced owner who can continue the guidance he is receiving in his foster but somebody somewhere is going to be extremely blessed to own this lovely little chap as he is pretty straight forward.

After his walk He could go as an only dog as typical Spaniel he adores people best but equally he would be happy to be housed with another dog or dogs but somewhere where he will get the attention and love he has missed out on being a working dog.

He is being fostered in the countryside and I am not sure he would adjust to town living so would like another country home for him – he has spent his whole life being left in kennels so would like for someone to be around a lot for him but he is ok being left for a few hours and has been. He would have started his vaccination course, been wormed/fleaed, treated for ear mites, have had a dental and been castrated before he leaves our care.
