Bud is a 13 month old male Presa Canario cross, he was adopted 4-5 months ago but sadly isn’t suited to living in a busy family home so is looking for a forever home.

His family love him but have tried very hard to make things work and it simply isn’t so they’ve asked us to find him the home he needs. The busy home is causing him to be anxious all the time and that is simply not fair to him.

He needs a new home with experience of mastiffs or other large breeds with guarding tendencies. He has bonded very well with his family but isn’t coping with visitors to the home and will bark and occasionally growl initially so he needs some help with this.

He is not coping with being left alone so needs a home where someone will be at home pretty much most of the time (if left he is chewing/messing and he doesn’t cope in a crate) but again with time and patience this can be worked on.

He is living with young children who he adores but given that he’s reacting to their friends visiting he needs a home with adults only or with older children who will not be having lots of friends visiting.

He’s living with a female dog but is typical of his age in that he is OTT and reacting with other dogs sometimes. So a home as an only dog or with a calm, older large breed female would suit him. He isn’t being rehomed with cats. On walks he’s on high alert and quite anxious but we know that with time and patience and further socialising this can be resolved.

He is a lovable boy who came in with the most appalling Cherry eyes which were sorted by our vet and he’s also recently been neutered and is fully vaccinated and chipped. He loves cuddles on the sofa, adores watching TV and loves apples – he’ll sit and wait while you peel and slice one for him.

He’s going to be an amazing dog for the people who have the time and energy to commit to him and he’s only so young and has so much potential. He is a loveable lad who needs a home with the right experience and time to dedicate to him as he matures. Forever homes can be anywhere within the UK but you will need to travel to us in South Yorkshire.

As always we require everyone in the family and any children who are regularly going to be in contact with the dog to attend the meet. Our usual process is that you will need to come and meet the dog and that adoption is then done on a second meet. For some dogs additional meets may be required and potential adopters will be required to travel to the dogs location for all meets.

If you meet the criteria for this dog please call 07766 766252 or 07950 404074 8am-8pm to discuss (if your call is not answered please leave a voicemail and we will return your call).

If you are suited we will then arrange a homecheck, vet reference and meet with the dog. We only rehome where all resident and previous animals are/were regularly vaccinated and neutered/speyed unless on veterinary advice. All of our dogs have rescue back up

JLP Trust Animal Rescue is a foster based rescue in South Yorkshire (Rotherham and the surrounding areas) and we offer help to animals who need us to find them a new home for whatever the reason.

Sadly many animals, especially in the South Yorkshire area, find themselves needing a new home, abandoned or neglected through no fault of their own. We try to help as many of these as possible through providing help with rehoming, foster homes and help to owners wherever possible to ensure that the animals remain safe, looked after and loved until a new forever home can be found.

For every animal we help we provide homechecks, vaccination, neutering and microchipping and lifetime back up if anything should go wrong in their new home.
