Buddha – 3 year old male Bulldog Cross

Hi I’m Buddha, 3 years old and I absolutely loves human attention but you do need to limit this. I can get over excited and tend to jump up and because I’m very big, very heavy and solid know about it! I am absolutely adorable and once I trust you I’m great but I do have issues. Therefore I need a very specific type of home with someone with experience of big stubborn breeds. Buddha resource guards, and guards his food. Anything that he deems as ‘his’ is out of bounds. He has got better with this and will exchange it for a treat, but definitely needs continued training with it which we can discuss at length with the new owners.

Buddha lives with up to 15+ other dogs at a time as is fine with all of them. He is surprisingly none reactive when given a telling off by other dogs but again, won’t allow them near his food or toys. He does take treats nicely around them with no problems. He also lives with two young children but contact is limited due to his possession issues. He has never shown any aggression towards them and has nothing but a waggy tail every time he sees them and he loves them. Buddha has bitten when he first came into rescue and drew blood, but it was just a warning bite and this is when he had his ear infections. He has not bitten since the pain has cleared up and being neutered, so we are confident his unpredictable temperament was due to pain. He is an absolutely adorable little hippo that loves people and other dogs, but must live with someone experienced and older children if any.

What you put into this lad he will return ten fold and he loves his food so has great training potential there, but is unbelievably stubborn and won’t do something you want him to do unless he has a reward.
