Buster – 10 year old male Shih Tzu

Buster is a 10 year old male Shih Tzu. He arrived at Mayhew in a poorly state but he’s now a lot happier, has gained weight and his fur has started to grow back. He’s a friendly boy with a wonderful personality and he never fails to make his foster carers laugh. He craves human companionship and builds strong bonds very quickly. An affectionate chap who loves nothing more than climbing up onto laps for love and attention and will also quite happily curl up and fall asleep on you. He suffers with allergic dermatitis and dry eye which he takes daily treatment for.

[rehomed]

He can live with sensible teenagers from thirteen years of age and upwards providing they are used to being around dogs and could live with a calm adult dog provided they are the right match and will respect his space.

He loves being around people and builds strong attachments however once settled he copes with being left home alone for a couple of hours on the occasional basis. Buster has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and is up to date with flea and worm treatment. He has also been health checked and behaviourally assessed.

This is what Buster’s foster carers say about him: Buster is a hilarious companion that melts the heart of everyone he meets. He greets everyone with enthusiastic wagging and he makes friends easily. He’s generally a very calm dog, but one of his favourite games is to chase you around the living room or garden. He is partially deaf but he will take commands (especially if there is food involved), and although he requires some medication, he allows you to administer it without any fuss.

He’s very well behaved, and loves to spend hours curled up on your lap on the couch or following you on walks. We love being greeted by him when we come home and he bonded to us quickly. We know he will do the same for whichever lucky person or family gets to adopt him.
