Meet Casper, a 5 year old male Cross-Breed who’s been waiting far too long for his shot at happiness. He’s currently based at Simba Shelter in Cyprus and has sadly become one of their longest residents.
Well over a year he has been in the shelter and you can actually see the sadness in his eyes.
How can a dog that looks like Casper have been in the shelter for all this time. Is it his age? The fact that he’s not small and fluffy? He deserves a second chance in life just as much as the desirable-looking dogs.
And the most heartbreaking thing is his affinity for humans. He doesn’t get out of his kennel much but, when he does, he relishes at the opportunity for some human affection.
In his current situation, he shows less interest in his actual walks and more interest in humans.
Casper is a profoundly wonderful dog on so many levels. Not only is he incredibly handsome, but he’s also clever and eager to please. He would suit an adopter willing to take the time to get to know him, train him, and invest in his potential.
Casper has shared his space with female dogs but has shown to be generally quite selective with canines. As a result, he requires a pet/dog-free home.
As with any rescue dog, Casper needs time and structure to settle into home life. In return, Casper will give back tenfold — loyalty, love, and gratitude in abundance.
Having known hardship and the loss of a family (we think he had a home before), Casper will be one of those eternally grateful dogs.
They are simply a joy to take under your wing and watch thrive in a home. And we, as volunteers, love to see this. It is exactly why we volunteer in dog rescue, to see dogs like Casper come out the other side and get their happy ending.
We provide full rescue back up and provide guidance and support throughout a dogs life.
Casper’s adoption fee is sponsored due to the length of time he has been in the shelter.
Casper is located in Cyprus and, if adopted in the UK, will travel with a passport and be tested for infectious diseases. He is fully vaccinated and castrated.
