Charlie is a 4 month old male Cross-Breed. He is being fostered in Somerset in family home with older children, cats and dogs. This lovely boy is the brother of Lenny and is now in our care after being rescued in Spain. He was terrified, he had been left to die with his siblings so they were not very trusting of humans.

Despite not having had positive experiences with humans as you can see, he is starting to progress nicely. He much prefers the dogs at this stage and feels safer with them but baby steps every day. He has settled with the cats with no problems.
We are going to take things slowly with him, he is starting to get used to gentle walks, his house training has been fab, just getting him used to family life. When his time comes for needing a home, we need a special family. You must have other dogs and experience of working with timid very shy dogs. We cannot afford to get the homing wrong.
Charlie attaches himself to other dogs more than humans at this stage and would love a dog he can play with and cuddle up to, he is never nasty just fearful with humans- if you watch his videos you can see he will get there but it really has to be with people who have had a lot of experience and have the right dogs in their home.
Charlie will be fully vaccinated, chipped and have his Pet Passport too young to be neutered at this stage. Please email us at this stage and we can send you our application form.
For further details regarding one of our dogs please email us at starfishdogrescue@hotmail.co.uk for our application form - we are only a small rescue and we get to know our dogs properly before they are put up for adoption, we work with two rescues in Spain for the last 7 years and also travel to Spain to meet the dogs and assess them before we agreed to take them as we are a foster based rescue - we also help the local dogs in Gloucestershire and also link to a local Pound in Bristol that we help, we do take our time and make sure its the right match and put as much detail as we can in their write up what sort of home will suit that particular dog.
All our dogs are neutered if old enough, fully vaccinated, chipped and blood tested - they go out with a full vet history, all homes will be home checked without exception and you will be expected to travel to meet the dogs we never deliver dogs.
We are small rescue solely run by volunteers. You can see more of our work on our facebook site and website under Starfish Dog Rescue.
