Chester is a 4 year old male Lurcher. He found himself needing a new home after an incident in the home with a child over food. He was initially quite bewildered however now he has settled in and been neutered he is a wonderful character! He loves life, he is a very clever lad and is quick to learn, he absolutely loves to run and play and zoomie and is an absolute sweetheart!
He is ball obsessed, he loves a football or tennis ball and will literally play with one all day, taking no notice at all of what the other dogs are doing! He is happy and takes everything in his stride, nothing really seems to bother him! Chester adores other dogs and loves nothing more than an off-lead run chasing other pointy dogs!!
He has fantastic recall and is very quick to learn and easy to train – with food!! However, he does have to wear a long line in the secure field as he doesn’t like to come back when he knows its home time and will quite literally lead you on a merry dance playing you can’t catch me, he is more compliant with the long line on and does come back when he is called now, he knows it means he will get a treat.
He will steal your sofa, bed, and your heart, He is strikingly beautiful and gets compliments wherever he goes which of course, he is happy to lap up! He is a real couch potato of a dog, he is very quiet and as much as he will walk for miles, he takes some convincing to get out of bed or off the sofa, particularly if it’s cold or wet – and who can blame him!! He certainly loves to snuggle with the other dogs or his humans, and loves to get under the covers!
He is house trained and non-destructive; we are looking for an adult only home for Chester. He is happy to be left snoozing on the sofa , absolutely adores other dogs so could happily live with a companion. Equally he would be happy as the only dog with lots of human attention! Chester walks perfectly on the lead, and really is an absolute pleasure and a clown in every way! He is very odd with food, initially when he arrived, he was under weight and would only eat in a crate, he has had periods where he has refused food altogether for days and eventually will eat something.
His previous owner said he was always very difficult to keep the weight on and we have really struggled, he is now 17kg and is maintaining this, but I feel in a home where he is settled this shouldn’t be an ongoing issue for him, he just wants a servant to pander to his every need! He is a gorgeous happy lad that so desperately needs a forever home and family to grow up with. Chester is neutered, microchipped , de flead and wormed.
