Chico – 18 month old male Cross-Breed

Lovely sweetheart Chico, is a young 18 month old male Cross-Breed of medium size. He has a black and white chest, short silky coat. Poor baby Chico was rescued when he was just a young puppy, on the edge of a road, injured and with the last part of his right hind leg missing and in great distress. We don’t know what happened, but probably a car accident.

Chico was taken into our care, and the wound healed well, without surgery. Now he is the most healthy, happy and affectionate dog you can imagine! And he is able to run like a rocket!!!

Like all dogs with an awful past life, he is a little bit timid, a bit afraid of people especially with unknown persons, or in a new environment that he doesn’t know, but he is also very smart and he quickly learns to trust.

Chico is a very affectionate dog as he gets to know you, so loving and full of life. He is very friendly with others dogs and cats. Chico is able to walk on a lead, but he loves to run!

Of course, he needs to walk on a lead, he is not trained to recall, as the usual recall is something that has been gained from bonding and trust, and may not happen in a few weeks, especially with a dog who had such an awful experience.

The best solution is a securely fenced dog field where he can run free and safe, he will surprise you! And in this safe environment, he can be trained to recall because if he gets spooked, he runs away, and in this case, it’s impossible to take him back.

We want a home with dog-savvy owners and another friendly dog to keep Chico company, no young children. We think he should never be allowed to get overweight so that his 3 legs can do the work of four easily. He can live with cats.
