Comet is a 3 year old male Labrador Cross. He is a gorgeous dinky boy who is finding things hard right now. He has come into rescue as his previous home no longer had time for him and felt that he would do better somewhere else. He has spent a great deal of time in his previous home left outside (where he was happiest apparently) and straying which caused him to be picked up by the dog warden a lot and ultimately contributed to his surrender into rescue. Comet is his happiest as a free spirit. He does not enjoy the confinement of crates and kennels and misses the luxury of a house and garden to wander around in all day. He loves playing with a football and running around in large open spaces so needs a home with a garden for him to play in. He was unfortunately never lead trained though and currently crocodile rolls when a lead is placed on him so this is being worked on and will need further work in his new home. He does also love a cushy bed and enjoys seeking the best ones out and making himself comfy.
Comet is great with dogs and tolerates all shapes and sizes (even them sleeping on top of him) he would do well with a canine friend to share his home with and make him more confident in scary new situations. It may also help to lead train him to follow a dog more confident than him. Comet is a really great dog who needs calm understanding owners to get past his initial fear and help him feel safe.
It doesn’t take him long to come round and when he does he will grace you with the most wonderful happy dances and even play football with you. He needs a calm home preferably with no children under 10 as sudden and loud noises would be too stressful for him and a chaotic environment would cause him to go back on all the confidence he’s gained. He has so much love to give and will make a wonderful addition to a family committed to helping him become more confident. He needs a home who wants to show him more of the big wide world and take things at the pace he’s happy to.
Comet is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and will be subject to a home check and adoption donation.
