Cookie is a 3 year old female Beagle cross Terrier. She adores people and is a really friendly girl, there is no side to her she just wants to be everyone’s friend. She is bouncy and despite her age is lacking in formal training so older children used to living with bouncy dogs would be fine 12+. No cats for Cookie please.
Cookie has not lived with another dog but is fine with other dogs. She lacks manners and is still very excitable, any other dogs would need to be well balanced and tolerant given her clumsy attempts to instigate play. She would be too much for older dogs to cope with but a mature well rounded younger dog may be a suitable mix. Cookie is also fine to be homed as an only dog. There are no known health issues.
Cookies lack of formal training shows in the home, she will bounce over furniture and happily dive all over visitors. She is clean in the house aside from the odd excited greeting tiddle. If left for prolonged periods we suspect that Cookie could be destructive. She loves human company and is an interact sweet girl.
Cookie is not yet used to having regular exercise and so does attempt to get out of any open door or gate currently, this will settle as her understanding of regular exercise and her needs being met consistently is accepted as the norm.
Typical for her breed mix, Cookie is nose down and off. She does need further work on her recall and lead training as she is strong on lead. She is non-reactive to traffic or other sights, sounds outside of the home. She pays a little interest with other dogs in an appropriate manner.
We would love an active home for Cookie where she will become a central part of her new family, perhaps owners who enjoy walking/running, a family who spend lots of time outdoors. She will also need owners who can commit to furthering her training as this will help Cookie to relaxed and listen to guidance from her owners.
She is essentially a young dog full of energy who has received little in the way of structured training and stimulation. She needs 100% commitment to ensure she reaches her potential which as yet is not the case. She will make a wonderful companion in the right home and will give back 1000% for some time and training.
Cookie has been neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and she is up to date with flea and worming treatment. Fostered in Biggin Hill Kent.
Potential adopters will be expected to travel to Biggin Hill Kent to meet Cookie.
