David is an 8 year old male Patterdale Terrier. David is looking for a new home as he is not accepting of the baby in the home. His family have tried to make this work for several years but now the baby has started toddling the situation is becoming difficult. David is wary of new people and can be reactive initially so we are looking for a calm, experienced owner. He cannot live with young children so will need an adult only home, free from visiting children and without any children planned for the future.
David is clean and non-destructive in the home and could be left for a couple of hours without any issues. He is also crate trained.David is very typical of the breed in that he is high energy but unfortunately his owner is currently struggling to give him the exercise he needs. He will benefit from an active home where he will be given plenty of exercise and stimulation. Once David has bonded with you he is an extremely affectionate and obedient boy. Any potential adopters will need to be prepared to make several visits to and from the rescue in order to form a bond with David, this will then progress into a slow introduction into the home so please do bare your location in mind should you wish to enquire about him.
David does currently live with two female dogs who he is absolutely fine with, however as with new people he can also be wary of new dogs too and can be reactive to begin with. Therefore we feel he would be best suited to being the only dog in the home. He does not like cats. David is in good health for his age but does occasionally suffer from over-shedding. He has seen the vet over this but no issues have been reported.
