Wow, what can we say about this girl! She is a real love bug and full of personality. We have all fallen in love with her here, she really does steal the heart of everyone she meets.

She is a quiet girl and can be timid at first, we were advised by her previous owners that she has sadly been subject to some abuse in the past, which explains her nervous temperament. When she first arrived into kennels she was very shut down, however since then she has been moved to our kennel kitchen where she gets to spend more time with the staff and volunteers. During her time with us, we have really seen her come out of her shell and show us her wonderful personality, when she’s comfortable she lets her playful side out!

She is generally very calm and loves spending the day tucked up on her sofa but every now and again she will have a boost of energy and race around playing with her toys which we love to see! Overall Dolci is a very placid, sweet dog who will make a fantastic companion. She has had a full health check and in good health with no ongoing medical conditions. As she can be nervous of new people we are looking for an adult only home with minimal visitors, including no visiting children.

Due to the abuse that she has suffered it can take her longer to form bonds with men so ideally a female owner would suit her best, although she is making progress with this every day. She can mix well with some dogs on walks but she does prefer her on space so for this reason we feel she will be best suited to being the only pet in the home. She does not like cats and will chase small animals such as birds.

She has spent periods of time at home with a member of staff and a volunteer where she has proven to be the perfect guest. She is quiet, clean and non destructive in the home so could be left alone for a couple of hours.

Any potential adopters will need to be commited to visiting Dolci regularly to build up trust and form a relationship before taking her home – please consider your location before applying.
