Donkey is a 1 year old male Shepherd Cross. He was born in fields outside of a village. As he grew older.
Donkey became more and more curious and from time to time he would leave his mum and siblings to explore the area.
Curiosity killed the cat or nearly killed the dog in this case as he was hit by a car. Fortunately, our rescuer was alerted and he came under our care.
Our rescuer looked for his siblings and sadly she found his mum and siblings dead.
They had been poisoned. Donkey is settling into his foster home in Kent. He’s like a shadow and is a playful dog.
Donkey doesn’t quite know what toys are yet so will chase a ball but then doesn’t know what to do with it!
Donkey’s fully housetrained and is already understanding some commands including ‘sit’ and ‘paw’.
Donkey does need reassurance that he’s safe and can get spooked by noises like the doorbell ringing, but his confidence will grow with time.
Donkey needs an active owner who is prepared to give reassurance and work with him to grow his confidence.
