Dotti – 1 year old female Cross-Breed

Dotti is a 1 year old female Cross-Breed. She is one super friendly girl, despite the traumas she has suffered at the hands of humans. She is just over a year old and weighs around 11kg. She is a rescue from Romania, so a total mixed breed, but she looks to possibly have some Spaniel in her. She is a double amputee, so she drags herself around indoors, or uses her wheels outdoors.

She was discovered living by the side of the road in a village with a fracture of the L4 vertebrae and the only solution was a double amputation of her hind legs. Since coming into foster in the UK we have found out what a truly special girl she is.

She gets on really well with other dogs, of all sizes. She is perfectly happy to be handled, and she loves a good fuss.

She zooms about, with or without her wheels. She loves playing with a ball and can keep herself entertained. She’s a typical puppy. She is somewhat wary of new people, understandably, and young children, but with the proper introductions she is absolutely fine. However, we feel children need to be over 10 and have experience of having lived with dogs.

Dotti will need an experienced adopter with a home environment that she can move around in easily, possibly whilst using her wheels indoors. She will happily wear nappies and a drag bag. She readily accepts having her bottom area cleaned a couple of times a day and sudocreme applied to her sores.

Her foster is toilet training her and, we believe with time she will not necessarily need the nappies. Though these offer her rear end some protection when she moves around.

Dotti truly deserves a little kindness, she’s such a loving girl.
