Dottie is a 2 year old female Schnauzer. She is being fostered in Kent in an adult home with other dogs. Dottie has come back into our care after being rehomed earlier in the year, this will point out is through no fault of her own. Dottie got back to her original foster carer and settled in very quickly.
Dottie came into our care earlier in the year as an ex-breeding bitch, She had not seen a lot of the world but was the more confident of them probably because she was younger. She has adjusted to home life quickly, loves the other dogs especially, and meets new dogs out, she walks well on the lead and is not fazed by traffic.
She can be fearful of new people coming into the home and will bark, nothing nasty she has no malice just scared but if people take the time to sit down quietly she soon makes friends. We are working on this and in a short time, it’s already improving. She would benefit from a knowledgeable home that has had ex-breeding dogs or similar before so has an understanding of their needs.
She is a very very sweet loving dog without a bad bone in her body, she loves other dogs and would need to be homed with another dog who is confident and could help show her the ropes alongside a patient kind person who knows The Schnauzers breed and has rescued before. She would not suit a busy family and is more suited to a couple or person or full-time workers.
