Eddie – 3-4 year old male Greyhound

Eddie is a 3-4 year old male Greyhound. The stunning Eddie is a beautiful brindle male Greyhound who is 3 1/2 years old. This lad landed into our care recently and very quickly made his mark on all of us here in Gapland. He is a sweet, fun boy and very outgoing and confident. He loves people and is very welcoming to any new friend. Eddie is NOT cat friendly and can not be rehomed with small furries. Eddie has been fabulous with the dogs he has met here but caution would be needed out and about on walks whilst adapting and learning to socialise and therefore he will only be rehomed with medium sized dogs upwards. He may even be best in a sighthound only home and would adore the company of a female greyhound. We do feel Eddie is independent enough to learn to be an only dog after a interim settling in period working with ourselves.

Eddie recently attended our open day at Oakamoor and although very excitable in the beginning during the course of the day settled and started to calmly take in everything going on around him. He is a smart boy who is interested in learning and understanding what you require from him. Although Eddie is with us here in kennels he works very hard to keep them clean so we do not envisage that housetraining will be any form of an issue. He walks well out and about in the main but can be a little excitable still at times. Eddie also travels like a dream and just loves to be in the car or van. Eddie can be rehomed with dog savy children 6 years and upwards.

Eddie is currently located in Stoke on Trent and can be rehomed nationally subject to a successful homevisit being carried out and any immediate resident members of the family and dogs being willing to travel to meet with him. Eddie is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, microchipped and is castrated. He has also received a dental and will be rehomed with one months free insurance with Petplan.

Greyhound Gap

Greyhound Gap is a small independent charity set up to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome greyhounds and lurchers who find themselves in a ‘put to sleep’ situation in UK pounds. Funded almost entirely by donations, we rehome around 150 dogs each year. We can have around 40-50 dogs at any one time in our kennels based in Kidsgrove, Stoke on Trent and a further 30-40 in foster homes. Greyhound Gap operates on a national basis so our dogs can be homed throughout the UK subject to a suitable home visit being carried out.

If you are interested in adopting a dog from Greyhound Gap, we would ask that in the first instance you could take a few moments to complete our pre-adoption questionnaire if you have not already done so: http://www.greyhoundgap.org.uk/our-dogs/pre-adoption-questionnaire
