Edith is a 5 year old female Bichon Frise. She has come to us as an ex breeding dog. She suffered an episode and was “off her legs” for a short period prior to coming to us. When she arrived it was apparent that little Edith had something going on as she struggled to walk and was clearly in pain. we x-rayed her to ensure that there were no issues with her spine, pelvis or hips – all were fine. When we progressed to spaying Edith a large mass was found on her uterus.
Thankfully when spayed this was removed. Edith had another lump on her knee which we have removed, she had an abscess in her shoulder which was removed and sutured. She also had a double inguinal hernia which has been repaired. All in all little Edith has had a very hard time and has been successfully rebuilt by our vets. Despite all of this she is such a sweet little thing who is so very grateful for her warm comfy bed and regular meals.
Edith is looking for a quieter home where she can enjoy all the comforts of a loving pet home. She will need to be re homed with another gentle dog who is not too energetic but who is happy to share a bed and cuddles in the sofa. Because she is nervous no small children, she would be fine with older teenagers who can allow her to settle at her own pace. She knows nothing about life in the home so may have accidents, she is improving and her foster will continue to work on this with her. Edith has never been on lead and currently is recovering. Her foster will start this training but it may well be ongoing when she goes to her new home. It’s doubtful that Edith is ever going to need long walks although her mobility has improved greatly following her surgery.
Edith is a real little sweetie who despite everything still wags her tail and gets excited about life. She has been neutered, vaccinated, micro chipped and had all of her medical needs addressed. She has also had her teeth scaled and polished and is up to date with flea and worming treatment. She is currently being fostered in Aldershot Hampshire.
