Elba is a 10 year old female German Shepherd Cross. She was rescued from hell 4 months ago where she was kept chained up without shelter.
Her house was a metal barrel in heavy minutes, she was very malnourished, practically skin and bone and overall she was in a horrible state.
Elba had lived this life for long years if not all her life. We are now looking for a peaceful retirement home for her where she is appreciated and kept safe and warm for the rest of her life.
Despite her miserable past, Elba is as sweet as sugar, she loves people, always wants to be near her rescuers and is very affectionate.
Elba is good with children too and accepts everyone as long as she is loved and treated well. Due to her past, she needs to be the only dog in the household as she gets jealous of resident dogs.
Elba is very nervous around them, she is shaking and whining in their presence. On walks, she is more accepting of dogs that approach her in a friendly manner.
Elba also walks nicely on the lead and it’s easy to walk her past any unwanted situation. Elba is in very good condition for her age and plays like a puppy with her newly discovered toys!
Elba is very intelligent and eager to learn, she’s learned basic commands very quickly in her foster home and learns new skills every day.
Elba is toilet trained, walks nicely on the lead and travels nicely in the car. She was a superstar at the vet’s and even gave kisses to the vet after her examination.
Elba would be best suited for a family without children where she is not left alone for long periods and she can spend precious time with her humans.
Elba needs to be the only dog and she needs owners to understand the needs of mistreated rescue dogs.
Elba will need time, patience, love and commitment from her adoptive family to be able to live a happy life.
Elba is currently in Hungary and can travel to the UK as soon as the right family is found for her.
Elba comes spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, flea and tick treated, with an EU passport and DEFRA-approved paperwork. The Adoption is subject to Home Check and Adoption fee. Full RBU provided.
