(Rehomed) Ellie – 3 year old female Bichon Frise

Ellie is a 3-year old female Bichon Frise who is being fostered in RCT, South Wales. She is a loving girl who enjoys cuddles but is still quite wary of men. She does calm down but on the initial meet will bark. Health wise, she has a click hip, which will need to be monitored but currently this doesn’t give her any problems. Ellie is still a little wary of people apart from foster mum. She will back away from new people but then will follow the other dogs to approach then run away again. She likes to be stroked if you are sitting down next to her but she will not approach if we are standing up. Ellie does not like to be groomed apart from a few strokes of a soft brush.

[rehomed]

Ellie has not yet met any dogs outside the home until she has completed her course of vaccinations. Ellie lives with a cat in her foster home without an issue. Ellie gets very excited when it’s food time and will need to be restricted so that she doesn’t gain too much weight. Her housetraining is ongoing and adopters will need to continue the training in her new home. Ellie hasn’t been crated and is not destructive in the home. She has been left for about four hours a day with other dogs for company. Ellis hasn’t been out and about much due to a lack of vaccinations. She is nervous in the car but soon settles. Poor Ellie isn’t keen on the vets either and will freeze and shake while being examined. Her adopters will have to work with her with lead walking and training/socialisation in all areas.

Ellie would need someone home for most of the day and would need a dog or dogs of similar or small size for company; she is under 6 kilos. She’s a young dog with lots of energy who is going to love her walks. Children of 10 and over due to her small size so not to be treated as a toy. A household that will not restrict her and give her the run of the house as she likes to follow her caregiver everywhere. Ellie is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea
and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet.
