He has all the love to give and loves to cuddle up In the evenings on the sofa after a busy day, yes he does think he’s a lap dog. He’s your shadow and sofa buddy.

Emmett is very Enthusiastic about life, He loves everything and everyone, he is an excitable Lad to start but with his ongoing training he is learning to greet more calmly- he’s smashing this!

He will require ongoing training in his new home to continue to help him grow into the amazing dog we see. He loves to work for treats and is a super clever boy.

He knows some basic commands and is looking to expand his knowledge further, he has so much potential. He’s been working on his recall And knows sit, wait, down and leave.

Being a big dog Emmett can be strong on lead, he has been doing amazing lead walk training whilst in foster and if you take your treats he’ll do anything for you! He is walking beautifully until he sees something he needs to investigate then he’ll pull.

Emmett could live with another playful dog in the home or as an only dog with owners who are around for a majority of the day.

He does have a prey drive so no cats or small animals.

Emmett is looking for owners who have time to dedicate to continue his being left alone training, he is now crate trained and can be left for short periods, he is non destructive and has learned to relax.

If you’re looking for a dog who will give you lots of love, laughs and loyality then Emmett is definitely the boy for you!

He can live with children aged 10 plus who are used to large breeds.

Breed experience or knowledge is ideal or owners willing to learn about the breed

Emmet measures:

  • Toe to tip of tail 140cm
  • To shoulder 75 cm
  • To top of head from floor 94 cm

Helping Dogs and Cats UK Rescue

Helping Dogs & Cats is a non-profit animal rescue (CIC number1420295) based in Basingstoke and operates in Hampshire, Berkshire, Kent, and Surrey. We rescue dogs, cats and other small animals in need of help.

Our journey began in 2018 when our Founder Kirsty Wrightson established the rescue after losing her beloved dog, Millie. Our work includes rehoming and rehabilitation, veterinary care, microchipping, spaying and neutering. All of the animals that come into our care first go into foster homes for assessment.

Adopting a dog or cat or other animal is a big decision and in most instances, a long-term commitment. To help you answer any questions you may have we have created an FAQ guide. https://helpingdogsandcatsuk.org/faqs-1

Our small team is staffed by volunteers, who are true animal lovers and passionate about animal welfare. We receive no government funding and depend entirely on the generosity of our supporters. Every penny we receive goes directly to helping dogs and cats.

We offer full rescue backup for the life of your adopted animal.
