Emmy is a 10 year old female Beagle cross Jack Russell Terrier. Poor little Emmy deserves a loving retirement home, rescue is no place for such a perfect little old lady. Emmy was originally rescued from a sad existence where she spent many years living outside on concrete. As a result she has stiff joints and needs to be kept on a joint supplement like Yumove to keep her comfortable and have access to all the comfy beds. She also has a scar round her neck from an embedded collar and a chronic cough as a result of the neglect. Her heart and lungs are clear with no sign of murmur or defect, the cough is not excessive but sometimes flares up. Neither ourselves nor the vets have been able to identify the cause. When this happens the vet puts her on a short course of antibiotics and metacam. However this is not very often, maybe twice a year if that. Emmy also has half an ear due to frost damage but this does not affect her or require any more treatment.
Despite the years spent outside Emmy does enjoy being outside regardless of the weather. She loves rubbing against trees and rolling in grass. She won’t eat sometimes unless she’s hand Fed. She loves being spoken to softly and hearing her name, we are looking for a loving home to give her plenty of TLC and soft beds. She is very quiet and sleeps a lot. Emmy would be wonderful company for an older person who was not overly active or mobile anymore. She loves a potter round the garden but does not like to walk very far. Emmy is fine with cats and other dogs.
Emmy needs a loving home after spending so many years living outside. Her last home did a great job of housetraining her however her age and wobbly legs need to be taken into consideration as she might not get to the door in time. She would be a lovely companion for an elderly person who wanted a nice old girl to chill with and alert them to visitors. I think Emmy would be overjoyed to spend her days snoozing on comfy beds being fed treats with a nice garden for her to roll in and sleep in the sunshine. She’s got a lot to offer the right home and will be a rewarding little project dog. Emmy will require a HOMECHECK BEFORE meeting her on an APPOINTMENT ONLY basis??
Emmy is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He will also be subject to a minimum adoption donation.
