Esmerelda was heavily matted, had infected skin and was petrified of people and was very snappy, unsurprisingly she was never reclaimed.
Esmerelda will need a home that allows her time and space to come to you – it took her time to feel comfortable with us!
Esmerelda will air snap when she is worried and will not let you pick her up until she trusts you, that said, once she trusts you, she is an adorable little lady and hilarious!
Esmerelda is a typical little lap dog once she knows you, she loves nothing more than cuddles, and will quite literally spend her entire day snuggled with you. She is usually draped around my neck on the back of the sofa!
Esmerelda is house-trained and non-destructive. She mixes fine with other dogs outside of the home but she will not tolerate them jumping on her indoors unless she initiates it, she seems to love dogs her size or similar but is not overly keen on the bigger dogs.
I think she would like to live with a similar size companion as she does adore the dogs, on her terms, she is also absolutely fine with cats. She will need an adult-only home that is prepared to build her confidence in her own time.
Esmerelda loves to get mucky – if there is a puddle, she is in it! Esmerelda loves to play ball and runs around like a little rabbit when she is in the security field.
Esmerelda is fast, a real little pocket rocket! off-lead in the security field, her recall is fab, however, in new surroundings, she is still quite flighty so will need to build her confidence before being off-lead in public.
Esmerelda is not a dog to be underestimated, she would love to do some agility or something that equally requires her to be active. She is clever, and feisty once she finds her feet.
Esmerelda is fine to be left for short periods on her own and is not destructive. Esmerelda is a very sweet little dog, that desperately wants a lap of her own to snuggle up on, can you offer her this?
