Farah is a 5 year old female Spanish Mastin Cross. This beautiful mastin girl is a survivor with an incredible story of resilience that shows how amazing dogs can be. She was found in the woods in Northern Spain. Having been abandoned by somebody, she had been left to roam and find her own way. This is scary enough for any dog, but on top of being abandoned by the people she trusted, She got her paw caught in an animal trap- the kind of trap that should never exist or be used by anyone.
She was lucky enough to be found in time, and be freed with little damage to her leg and paw. We can only imagine how scary and painful this must have been, yet she didn’t lose her sweet nature with people. She has been at the pound ever since, and in spite of the difficult conditions there, she was still interested in us when we went to meet her and approached for gentle affection. We will never stop being amazed by the resilience and kind hearts of these dogs, who still show us affection after all that has happened to them.
She is a big girl, who will need a home experienced with large size dogs and ideally the mastín breed. She is sweet natured with people, though she understandably is timid on first meetings. She needs an understanding, patient home, who will be open to caring for her and helping her build trust and confidence. We don’t know anything of her past, so a home environment, noises, lead walking, house training, may all be new to her.
We know she is good with other dogs but hasn’t and can’t be tested with children, cats or other animals. She deserves a family willing to give her her second chance at happiness and to help her know what it feels like to truly be loved. If you feel you could be this person, please get in touch. She can travel to the UK as soon as the right home comes forward that knows how to appreciate her an. She can be rehomed in England and Wales, but not Scotland.
