Fido is a 9-10-year-old male shepherd cross, weighing approximately 25kg, currently residing in Romania. He was rescued from a high-kill public shelter, where his desperate cries motivated a team to reserve and transfer him to a safe shelter.

Despite his age, Fido is in remarkably good health, having been vaccinated, blood tested, neutered, microchipped, and treated for fleas and worms.

Although his teeth have some issues, he recently received antibiotics for gum redness, and no teeth were removed during the check. Fido may benefit from joint supplements due to his age, along with a continued good diet featuring grain-free food.

Fido shows positive behaviour on the lead, and he is content with it being attached. In a new environment, he may need some support with continued lead walking.

He interacts well with both males and females, displaying no negative behaviour towards either gender. Fido, currently residing in a single-dog kennel, hasn’t shown aggression toward other dogs and could potentially live with an older female dog in his new home.

However, he has not been tested with cats, so a cat-free environment is advised.

Considering his temperament, a home with older individuals is recommended for Fido, as he hasn’t been exposed to small children. He has no bite history in public or a safe shelter.

The ideal home for Fido includes a secure garden, an older family, and a loving, patient environment. Adopters should be prepared for continued support as Fido adjusts to his new surroundings.

The adoption process requires an application, checks, and a mandatory 90-minute adoption chat and home check for successful applications.

Fido’s dream is to find a forever home in his final years, making his shelter stay a distant memory. Please share to help make Fido’s dream come true.
