Fred has been nothing but loved and enjoyed a lovely life with his family, but heartbreakingly, due to a significant shift in personal circumstances, Fred is seeking a new home.

This is through no fault of his own, and it has been the hardest decision for his family to make but they just want the very best for him.

Fred is a silly, friendly and hugely affectionate pup who adores human company. Once he’s bonded with someone he loves to be with them as much as possible, especially in the evening when he loves a snuggle on the sofa.

Fred is friendly towards everyone he meets and loves nothing more than being fussed over, so is looking for a family who is seeking a cuddly pup they can shower with affection.

Fred can’t get enough of it! Fred is fantastic on his walks and loves being outside.

Fred has good recall and even when off the lead he stays close and has no desire to run off (a new adopter would need to work up to this and should not have him off the lead immediately, a bond needs to be built first).

Fred is very food motivated and the use of treats has come in handy when working on his recall! Fred enjoys investigating his environment and loves walks in the woods where he can jump on tree stumps and explore everything nose first.

Fred also loves big open spaces like the beach (cue Zoomies!) and plays well with other dogs at the dog park.

Fred is good with children, but we’re looking for a home without kids due to the observations of his current adopter. Ultimately we think that Fred would be best suited to a calm, laidback home where he can enjoy a fairly quiet life.

As young children can be naturally unpredictable in their movements and sounds we think he would be happiest in an adult-only home.

Outside of the home he is good-natured and well behaved, but can be a little jumpy although means no harm. Fred has a slightly anxious disposition and this shows through his desire to be very close to his humans at all times.

Fred is looking for a family who can work on his confidence so he can be a bit more independent, and we also feel he would benefit from having an older, established dog n the household.

Fred used to live alongside another dog but when she passed away he lost some of his confidence. He is great with other dogs and having a friend to look up to and learn from would be great for him.

The only dogs that have caused some slightly visible wariness from Fred are yellow labradors, and this is probably only in 50% of the ones he meets, but still something to be aware of f you have a resident lab!

Fred is a fantastic companion and such a loyal, devoted little friend. He has settled into his home so well and it’s such a shame that he needs rehoming, but whoever is lucky enough to make Fred their own is going to have a fantastic little dog on their hands.

Fred loves to learn and is always keen to please, he can be left alone in the house for a few hours and he is well-behaved indoors.

Fred is housetrained, great on the lead, and will do anything for a treat, especially a chopped carrot! Fred is currently based in Somerset and is ready for adoption. If you would like to meet him please get in touch.
