Look! George is a French Shepherd known as Beauceron. George is a very nice boy and is currently being slimmed down. He is however, full of life and needs an hour in the morning, of exercise. He is very handsome. The Beauceron is a French Shepherd. They are very intelligent resourceful independent and hardy. One was used extensively In the Rescue work after The World Trade Centre Disaster. They have appeared in several well know film sequences. George is Friendly if little aloof if he doesn’t know you. Typical. He will happily chase the squirrels and other small furries. He has loads of character and will keep us on our toes. Unfortunately he loves his food. Good for training but not for waist lines. George is currently in foster with our Labrador cross and He does expect the same privileges, and will try to sit on the sofa.
George will live with another secure but not a push over type dog. Such a dog would be required to be non aggressive but assertive. George will chase a ball which needs to be encouraged as he will find other things to occupy himself with. He has been learning to keep an eye on his fosterer off leash otherwise he gets distracted with what goes on. Achieved by playing hide and Seek. Poor George was given to an elderly man, by a former Rescue but this man soon died. He then was given to another elderly couple who found him too strong. And one of the couple was suffering with confusion after a fall, so George finds himself looking for a younger retired couple or family with teens. He does walk well when it is demanded of him.
Please consider George needs help with his diet. He does NOT need a treat happy family. He does need a rather disciplined family in both training and diet. In return Characterful George will be fun, challenging, exciting, and keep you fit. By the way, good with all people, amazing with dogs he meets, says hello and moves on. Not good with cats. LOVES his walks.
