Giovanni is a 4 year old male German Shepherd Cross. We were recently asked if we could support Giovanni’s rehoming from Jordan to the UK and this will be the first time we have facilitated an adoption from this part of the world. Giovanni is a stunning boy who was born in the desert and was rescued along with his siblings when they were just a few weeks old.

He’s since been cared for by a family who own a boarding kennels and pet country club in Amman and thanks to them he’s had a positive upbringing and been well cared for and well socialised. Three of Giovanni’s siblings were taken into the care of a nearby shelter and one was adopted locally, but Giovanni hasn’t been so lucky so we’re seeking a home for him in the UK now.
He’s a beautiful mixed breed and weighs almost 40kg so is looking for someone confident with larger dogs. He loves long walks, swimming in the sea and chasing after a ball, and he really enjoys the company of people, even just sitting with them. He has a very calm, affectionate and gentle temperament. He dislikes loud people, shouting and screaming. Giovanni is looking for a semi-rural home.
Although not critical, it would be lovely for him to be adopted near the beach given his love of swimming! He’s used to having some freedom and needs a home with a garden and a family who enjoy being outdoors, exploring nature and taking long walks. It will take him some time to transition to living in a new home environment, but Giovanni is very smart and keen to please, so with some patience and training we know he will flourish.
Giovanni has grown up around cats and treats them well. Because of his size we recommend that if he’s homed with cats they are to be confident cats that are used to the presence of dogs. He likes to play and although means no harm this could be overwhelming to a more sensitive cat. He is also very patient and friendly with children who treat him respectfully, and we’re looking for a home with children aged 8+.
Giovanni has been neutered and all of his veterinary care is up to date. He’s ready to fly so now all he needs is a home to go to! Having had the opportunity to live indoors before and know that people can be kind Giovanni has built trusting relationships with humans and will make a very loyal, loving companion. Giovanni is currently in Jordan and has a clean bill of health. He can travel once he finds his forever home. Travel and veterinary costs TBC.
