Goldie came into our care after his owner died. Goldie has been a loved dog and well cared for.

In the last few years due to the ill health of his owner, he has been looked after by various carers, family members and dog walkers.

Goldie settled so quickly with us as he was so used to different people caring for him, we struggle to find any negative to say about this lovely chap, he is very polite, clean walks beautifully on the lead and travels well.

Goldie has a good recall and has been out on a pack walk which he enjoyed.

Such a good recall

Out on a Starfish Pack walk

Goldie could be homed as an only dog or with other dogs.

Very comfortable around other dogs

No cats he appears to not like them at all and wants to chase them if he ever sees one out and we have been told this by relatives.

Goldie has been left with no problems.

Goldie has been used to sleeping upstairs on the landing on his bed and we have continued this.

Goldie would suit an adult home as it’s what he has been used to, someone who is active and enjoys lovely walks in the countryside.

A retired couple or person would be his perfect choice as he does not want to spend hours on his own. He is a very loving dog and full of character.

Somebody who understands grooming breeds as his coat has been beautifully looked after but he needs brushing properly at least 3 times a week to keep it like this.

Goldie has been to our Vets to be health checked and have a lump looked at which is just a fatty lump.

Goldie is neutered, vaccinated, wormed/flea and chipped.

Starfish Dog Rescue is a small Rescue helping UK dogs established since 2011.

The dogs that find their way to us are those in need of support in a small home-based rescue where the dogs are fostered as our own in our homes, the old, the young and more vulnerable that would not do well with a kennel-based rescue.

We work closely with the dogs assessing them so we know them so well we can give potential owners a complete picture of the dogs and what they need in the form of a forever home, we home our dogs as if they are our own and have a 99.9% success rate in matching dogs and people up we will never compromise so please do not be offended when we say no which is quite often our rescue is about the dogs first and their needs we home them knowing if they could speak it's about their perfect match.

We are a small team of local volunteers who have worked together closely for many years now many of us have worked for larger organisation where sometimes people lose sight of the most important factors and that is the dogs.

All our dogs are neutered, vaccinated, chipped, wormed/fleaed to us that is just the basics, dogs will get everything they need to make sure they lead a healthy happy life before they leave us, if they need surgery for heart problems, treatment for ear infections, dentals for infected teeth to name a few they will get it - we often organise fund raisers to help pay their vet fees from our wonderful supporters.

Each dog is a special precious soul and will always be the centre of what Starfish is - a Rescue that is all about the dogs.

You can see more about work on our public Facebook page and Website.
