Guinness is a 11 year old male English Cocker Spaniel. Guinness was returned to Spaniel aid due to growling and guarding his female owner. We have had one incident of guarding when he got hold of a pack of bacon but that was understandable – my son is the same! He was very grumpy in the first few days but a quick vet check soon revealed that he was in pain with his back legs due to Arthritis so once we popped him on Metacam and YouMove, all growling has stopped and he is a fantastic boy.
You would never think Guinness is 11 years old – he is active and ball mad but is your typical grumpy man – tell him no and he will walk off muttering to himself! As much as he loves his walks, he loves to cuddle up on the sofa for a nap. He still needs 2 good walks a day and is water mad. He sleeps in a crate at night and sleeps all the way through but does need letting out as soon as you go to him in the morning.
He loves his food and he will let you know if you aren’t getting ready for his walks quick enough! He does like his routine. He is great with cats and other dogs but he would be okay as an only dog too. He is great with kids but I would say older due to his hips and ability to be a bit grumpy if they were to be bounced on or hurt. Needs Metacam due to arthritis.
Located in Stockport and is vaccinated, flea and worm treated, neutered and microchipped.
