Jack is a 2 year old male Cross-Breed. He was found roaming the streets as a puppy and was taken in by an elderly gentleman who kept him on a chain in the garden as a guard dog for over a year before handing him over to the rescue.
Jack was adopted in the UK and after a few short weeks, he was placed into kennels as we were told he was aggressive and at the time we didn’t have a foster available to take him.
When I met and assessed Jack on Monday afternoon, what a shock I had, he was completely misunderstood!
Do doesn’t attack other dogs like we were led to believe BUT he can be reactive towards male dogs so needs an experienced foster/adopter who is willing to work with him and teach him how to behave with other dogs.
Jack was introduced to my female spaniel first and he got a bit dominant towards her but she soon put him in his place and he backed away.
Jack then was introduced to my male Jack Russel and they had a moment about who was more dominant but no fighting (videos available).
Later that day he met my German Shepherd Cross and another foster who is a Belgium Shepherd Cross, as they are both females they happily told him what behaviour was and wasn’t acceptable.
Jack is a very very affectionate dog and loves his cuddles and is learning very fast how to behave when meeting new dogs.
