Jacob is a 4.5-year-old, larger medium-sized, male mix breed. Rescued in July 2021 from the streets of Hungary, he has spent the past 2.5 years in a city pound.

Despite the challenges, Jacob remains a hidden gem in the shelter, often overlooked by many. His daily routine involves an hour-long walk every other weekend, leaving him eager for more interaction and exercise.

Having a wonderful nature, Jacob is affectionate and eager to please. Displaying the traits of a working dog, he is remarkably intelligent and a quick learner. Responding promptly to commands, he views people with admiration and dedication.

In addition to fundamental commands such as sitting, lying down, giving a paw, and stopping or starting walking on command, Jacob’s focus and enthusiasm shine when he is out of his kennel.

His affectionate and playful demeanor, coupled with his motivation for treats, make him a delightful companion.

Despite being confined in a kennel, Jacob approaches other dogs in a friendly manner. While he can be a bit boisterous, he is not aggressive, showing a playful side that resonates well with dogs willing to engage.

He particularly enjoys water activities, displaying happiness when given the opportunity to splash in a nearby river or a dog pool.

Jacob’s ideal home would be with an active family, providing him with the exercise and attention he craves. A family that understands the needs of a rescue dog and appreciates his loyal and intelligent nature is what he truly deserves.

Jacob thrives in the company of other dogs, making him suitable for a family with a friendly, playful dog of similar size, or he can be the sole focus of attention.

Prospective adopters should have experience with rescue dogs, as Jacob, like many rescues, requires time, patience, love, and commitment to become a happy, well-balanced canine companion.

As Jacob awaits a loving home, potential families should be aware that adoption is subject to a Home Check and Adoption fee. He comes fully prepared for his new life, including being neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas and ticks.

With an EU passport and DEFRA approved paperwork, Jacob is ready to embark on a new chapter in the UK as soon as the right family is found.
