Jessica is a five year old small Terrier, fostered near Norwich. She also spent many years in a public shelter and no human ever touched her to our knowledge. It’s extra tough on the small dogs trying to survive in an environment where dogs of all sizes, strengths and temperaments are bundled in together and then left unsupervised. Jessica is a plucky little terrier and I’m sure she’s faced dangers along the way that we couldn’t even bear to think about, but this girl has spirit and she’s come through it with her sense of humour intact. Jessica follows me around and gets so excited when I come home but she is still avoiding my touch whenever she can. Once on a lead I can stroke her and she doesn’t hate it but she needs more of these interactions daily than I can give her with so many other dogs to care for. She has such potential to be a loving pet once this final barrier is broken through but she needs a forever home where she can receive more one to one attention and grow in confidence much faster.
Jessica gets on well with other dogs but when play gets a bit rough she can cop a strop and start telling the other dogs off in typical terrier fashion. We have tested her with cats and in introduction did not appear to be the bad but interested in them. Jessica needs a home with no young children and with experienced adopters that enjoy the path to winning her trust. Our adoption fee is £250. They are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered (unless they are too young).
