Jester – 5 year old male Greyhound

Jester is a 5 year old male Greyhound boy who landed into our care recently here at Greyhound Gap. Jester is quite an outgoing and slightly pushy lad and most definitely knows his own mind. Having led quite a sheltered life he is eager and keen to experience everything that life and the world in general has to throw at him. Jester is still extremely interested and keen in moving objects be that fast floating balloons or small running dogs and small furries. He has met children out and about and been lovely but due to him having a slightly higher prey drive at the moment we would not rehome him with children younger than 8 years of age as he has no issues with ramming past you to attempt to get at whatever it is that he wants and can be a little grabby.

[rehomed]

Jester we feel needs a home either as an only dog with someone around all of most of the time especially in the beginning or with a resident calm female Greyhound already in situation. He is very fond of his bed and personal space so a home would need to be aware to ensure there were plenty of resting places in the beginning until he has settled. Jester is NOT cat friendly. Out and about on walks Jester walks well in the main and travels like a dream. Although still with us here in kennels he works hard to keep his area clean so we do not envisage house training being an issue.

Jester is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, microchipped, neutered and has received a dental. He will also be rehomed with one months free insurance.

Jester is currently located in Stoke on Trent but can be rehomed nationally subject to a successful homevisit being carried out and all members of the immediate family and any resident dogs being willing to travel and meet with him.

Greyhound Gap prides itself on specifically matching suitable dogs to suitable homes so we would ask that when applying to adopt from us you keep an open mind as to the dog most suitable to your environment.

Greyhound Gap

Greyhound Gap is a small independent charity set up to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome greyhounds and lurchers who find themselves in a ‘put to sleep’ situation in UK pounds. Funded almost entirely by donations, we rehome around 150 dogs each year. We can have around 40-50 dogs at any one time in our kennels based in Kidsgrove, Stoke on Trent and a further 30-40 in foster homes. Greyhound Gap operates on a national basis so our dogs can be homed throughout the UK subject to a suitable home visit being carried out.

If you are interested in adopting a dog from Greyhound Gap, we would ask that in the first instance you could take a few moments to complete our pre-adoption questionnaire if you have not already done so: http://www.greyhoundgap.org.uk/our-dogs/pre-adoption-questionnaire
