Joey is a 2-3 year old male German Shepherd Cross.
“ How you doing?!” ‘Joey Tribbiani’ here and once you look into these big brown eyes of mine, you’ll want to take me home! Remember rehoming is not all about looks, I will need a patient and understanding new owner who accepts my sensitive nature and strong physique!
An experienced owner who has the commitment to help build my confidence with new situations and people. I am very loyal and will be devoted to my new owner/ family and likely to be suspicious of people I do not know. I did not have a great start in life and I do worry about people’s intentions towards me. I can be very vocal and although this is just because I am scared, it can be worrying to anyone that doesn’t know me.
However, I have proven that with the correct introduction and kind words of encouragement (together with a few tasty treats) it doesn’t take me very long to make new friends. I am certainly more worried by men than women.
I am a bouncy boy and I sometimes forget my manners but I am very clever and learning not to jump up or try and race you to the door. I am learning sit nicely or roll over for a tummy tickle and fuss. I am enjoying playing with my favourite toys.
I would benefit from having a large secure garden to play in as I may be better suited to enjoy all of my exercise at home until such a time that I am more confident being around unknown people and have continued to learn how to walk nicely on a lead.
I am very strong and I will chase small animals so I will have to be kept on a lead at all times when I am ready to go out and about. I am not so sure about other dogs yet so I need to be the only pet in my new home.
